Why Your Email List Is the Key to Success

One thing that I always tell my online course creation clients is that the money is in the email list. As an entrepreneur looking to digitally grow your impact and your income, finding ways to capture people’s digital contact information is an absolute must.

This means having an email capture button on your social media pages, on the bottom of your blog posts, and most importantly, on the top of your homepage so that it is one of the first things people see when they visit your website.

It may sound obvious but this simple call to action is an effective way to connect with the community to which you are marketing your message.

It is also essential to collect people’s contact information at bookings and other live events. Whether you are at a yoga festival, psychic convention, or spiritual meetup, always remember to ask people for their email address so that you can connect and engage with them going forward.

And in the spirit of going digital, now is the opportune time to starting using digital products like an iPad to collect contact information. Even if you’re partial to pen and paper, you should consider switching over to ensure that there are no accidental misspellings when typing up your list. You have so much wisdom and magic to offer; don’t let a logistical error prevent you from sharing your work with those who seek it.

Nurturing Your Email List

Once you capture digital contact information for new potential student or clients, it’s time to nurture, nurture, nurture. This means regularly sharing high-value content in order to build trust, anticipation, and urgency among those who seek your wisdom.

The more you engage and nurture your audience, the easier it will be for your tribe to recognize your work is for them. Then when you open enrollment for your program, there will be a following of people ready to begin their mind, body, or spiritual journey with you.

A common question I receive is exactly how and when to nurture a client list. The means is up to you — whether it be emails, blog posts, webinars, or newsletters — but the key is to share quality, education-based content that will resonate with your community. Twice a month is great, twice a week is even better.
